I love these painting videos. I think my favorite part is just seeing how it all comes together. Obviously, the big Cargolux Boeing 747-8F Freighter takes center stage and is much more impressive, size wise, than the Southwest Airlines Florida One plane but the Florida One paint job was much more elaborate.

I shot this video in March, from Founder’s Plaza at DFW. I still prefer this United livery to the new post-merger “Continited” livery.

I haven’t published much from that outing because the weather was really bad, and I didn’t have something to block the microphone port on the Zi8. Also, did I mention that I only had the Zi8 to film because I decided not to bring the big fancy Sony camera that I have? What I’m saying is, this is not up to my normal quality, but I wanted to publish something from that trip, so here it is.

In the description, the creator of the video says that he shot about 70 minutes worth of video at Logan Airport in Boston and then compressed it down to the 2:30 minutes that we see here. He was also harassed by some local law enforcement while he was shooting the video.

Awesome video from an F-14 Tomcat that was shot during Desert Storm. The coolest thing about this video, is that it doesn’t have any music to ruin it. The other cool thing, is the quote from an air tanker crew:

This is crazy video footage of the collision between an Air France A380 with a Delta Connection CRJ at JFK Airport in New York.

I couldn’t figure out how something like this could have happened. I mean, I know the A380 is a huge plane, and maybe the pilot didn’t see the smaller CRJ and clipped it. From the video, it looks like the CRJ didn’t quite clear the taxiway and/or perhaps the A380 was not tracking down the middle of the taxiway.

I can only imagine how freaked out the people on the CRJ must’ve gotten when the plane was jolted like that. Folks, there’s a reason why we need to remain seated until the plane is at the terminal building and the fasten seatbelt sign is turned off.

Regardless, I’d love to see the insurance claim on this accident.
