I submitted my drawings to Harry Winsor Design Your Own Aircraft Show today. I was partly inspired by @AirlineReporter, but I was also inspired by Harry and his dad. If you don’t know who Harry is, he’s the kid that submitted a drawing to Boeing that, long story short, was auto rejected per company policy.
Boeing ended up making things as right as they could and was very pro-active in the face of a potential PR nightmare. The Future of Flight museum took it upon themselves to have an exhibit, featuring Harry’s drawing and asked the general public for their own entries.
I hadn’t drawn a plane in years. I think I was in grade school, if I remember right. I figured what better opportunity than this, right?
Here are my drawings…
This is the first plane I’ve drawn in at least 20 years:
Here’s my “go crazy” concept:
I was a swimmer when I was little, so I figured a flying pool would be awesome.
Seriously, if you’re an aviation geek, you have to submit a drawing. You’re running out of time since the submissions have to be in to the Future of Flight museum by June 7th.
