Recent Crash at Nazca Blamed on Wind Shear

Published on March 3, 2010, by in General Aviation.

So, I was reading over on the Kathryn Report that Nazca Airlines blames the recent crash of a Cessna 206F at the NAzca airport on wind shear. Apparently, the plane just sort of fell out of the sky, killing everyone on board not due to a mechanical failure or something like that.

In case you don’t know what Nazca is all about, it’s a site in Peru where there are lines drawn in the desert that can only be seen from the air. Here’s a sample:

Apparently, the Nazca airfield is the second busiest airfield in Peru. Only Jorge Chavez International Airport, the airport in Lima, gets more traffic.

This is a picture of one of the airplanes that routinely takes tourists up for a $60 flight over the Nazca lines.

I’ll leave you with this, the plane seats 6, yet there were 7 people onboard. Hmmm, you think that may have had something to do with it?
