Speed bird Boeing 747-400 at Austin Bergstrom International Airport. when this flight started, it was with a Boeing 787, but they quickly had to upsize the plane due to demand. In case you’re wondering, it’s an 11+ hour non-stop flight to and from London Heathrow.
Speed Bird, is the radio call sign for British Airways. I believe it comes from back in the days when the British Airways precursor, the BOAC, used jet planes while everyone else flew propellers. Whence, speed bird, but I could be wrong about that.
