It looks like Spirit and their pilots have settled their differences. It looks like Spirit will start paying their pilots a fair/ acceptable salary and will resume all flights on Friday.

On Twitter, I saw several reports that Spirit airlines had furloughed, although some people said laid off, all of their flight attendants due to the strike. The flight attendants had expressed solidarity with the pilots, so who knows if that had something to do with the furlough.

In case you’re wondering, there is a big difference between being laid off and being furloughed.

When you are laid off, you no longer have a job with the company whereas when you’re “furloughed” you still have a job, you just don’t have any work and therefore no salary either.

Here’s a short video about the pilot strike and its effect to the Fort Lauderdale airport.
