United Airlines new livery seen at LAX.
Via Flickr:
My first look at the post-merger United livery, AKA Continited. Actually works quite well when seen in person – though I am still partial to the tulip, rather than the disco ball.
Although most of the repainted planes are Continental, this one is United, leaving from a United gate and carrying a United registration number. Noting the United style 4-digit airframe numbers (2623) that are now marked up Continental-style (nose gear hatch and near the top of the rear door).
The spotty sunshine makes for some unexpected pleasant lighting effects.
As of May 2011, this photo has become a reference photo at Wikipedia, as there had been no photos of post-merger United aircraft there.
