I was out at Circuit of the Americas, aka COTA, for the MotoGP race a couple of weeks back. The circuit, is close to the airport, in fact, it’s directly under the flight path of runway 17L, if memory serves me right.
Of course, in between photographing the motorcycles racing by at 180+ miles an hour, and the hot girls modeling at the static displays, I had to look up and take a few shots of the lumbering passenger jets.
I believe the principal in question is called “parallax,” but I’m likely very wrong about that. I found it interesting how much slower the planes appeared to be than the motorcycles zipping by me.
I couldn’t read any of the registration numbers on the planes, but here are a few of the shots that I got of the planes of COTA. These are the most worthy of sharing anyway.
